The Profit Margin shows the percentage of each sales dollar that results in Net Income.
Profit Margin = Net Income : Net Sales
For example, assume that a business entity has Net Income $10,000, and Net Sales $100,000. In this case Profit Margin ($10,000 : $100,000) =.10 = 10%
