Is the car name capitalized (need to create a separate entry if so)? Kipmaster 10:49, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
- There are a few defiitions to be moved to the capitalised page --Umbrella 09:19, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Alternate pronunciation
[edit]I have personally observed a number of US-native English speakers pronouncing Jaguar as "Jaguire", /ˈdʒæɡwaɪəɹ/. I don't know where it stems from, but is it attested/recorded formally anywhere that we could add it to the list of pronunciations here?

- I am one of said people. I've found several posts on online forums about this ([1] seems to have a lot of results) and a few videos on youtube (eg. [2] [3] ), but nothing further. I wonder if this stems from no (or few) other words with /wɑr/ in them? It feels like a weird combination to pronounce. -- Mocha2007 (talk) 15:45, 3 December 2018 (UTC)
- In w:Pickle Rick, they repeatedly switch back and forth between JAG-you-ar, JAG-wire, and JA-gwar, even with the same voice actor. I wonder if that was done on purpose. kwami (talk) 23:28, 8 October 2023 (UTC)
- FWIW actor Shayne Topp (born in Phoenix, AZ, now in Burbank, CA) says it this way, too, e.g. at 9:13 here. (Merriam-Webster has it has "dialectal".) - -sche (discuss) 02:14, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
