Faliscan. Labeled by de Vaan as Faliscan, saying it comes from Velius Longus. From Velius Longus' De Orthographia we can find (full text):
Nos non tam propter illas causas quas supra proposuimus <harenam dicimus>, quam propter originem vocis, siquidem, ut testis est Varro, a Sabinis fasena dicitur, et sicut s familiariter in r transit, ita f in vicinam adspirationem mutatur. Similiter ergo et haedos dicimus cum adspiratione, quoniam faedi dicebantur apud antiquos: item hircos, quoniam eosdem aeque fircos vocabant. Nam et e contrario quam antiqui habam dicebant, nos fabam dicimus.
Note that fasena, f(a)edus and fircus are given by de Vaan as Sabine Varro forms. So how is this Faliscan? Catonif (talk) 17:30, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
