[edit]- A taxonomic species within the family Rhizopogonaceae – an ectomycorrhizal fungus distinguished by basidiocarps which, pallid at first, turn sayal brown with handling; by its essentially nonamyloid spores measuring 6–7.5 × 2.2–2.5 μm; and by the lack of intracellular pigment and the presence of giant cells (measuring 25–75 μm) in its peridium.
