ACM TELO Guidelines for Reviewers
The TELO editorial board is committed to publishing quality articles in the field of Evolutionary Learning. Because the field is so dynamic, efficiency in the manuscript review process is essential. To ensurethe timely publication of acceptable manuscripts, we request that reviewers complete their reviews within three-four weeks of receiving a manuscript.
Meaningful reviews are essential to the maintenance of high-quality publications. Accordingly, the editorial board requests that the following guidelines are followed when submitting a review:
-
Be as specific and as detailed as possible. Reviewer comments should refer to specific portions of the manuscript by page number.
-
Refrain from including value judgments and opinions. All comments should be tethered directly to the information, research, argumentation, and claims put forth in the manuscript.
-
Include constructive criticism. Ideally, the author should be able to use the review as a tool to learn how to improve his or her manuscript as well as his or her research overall.
Reviews should maintain the following structure:
-
A short overall summary of the contents of the manuscript, no more than two hundred words in length.
-
Explain to what degree the manuscript addresses (or fails to address) each of the categories listed on the Reviewer Rubric.
-
Include suggestions for improvement to the authors.
-
The final recommendation for the manuscript: accept for publication, revise and resubmit, or reject.
Reviewer Incentives
ACM offers free membership to non-ACM members to those who perform three reviews or more (across the board for all ACM journals) within a one-year time frame.
ACM is working on additional incentives for reviewers.
