NFC Technology Acceptance Factors in Tourism

Published: 13 February 2022 Publication History

Abstract

The use of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology in tourism has provided tourists with new opportunities. NFC technology ensures cost savings for companies, favorably influences the process of forming a tourist experience, promotes the promotion and dissemination of information about tourist destinations. Despite the high potential, there are problems associated with the adoption of innovative technologies by consumers. This article explores the factors influencing consumer acceptance of NFC technology. The aim was to develop and test a theoretical model of tourist acceptance of NFC technology. To identify the significance of the factors, a consistent methodology was used, including conducting in-depth semi-structured interviews, drawing up a questionnaire and online questioning of tourists. As a result, a regression model was formed, which made it possible to determine the strength and significance of the influence of the factors selected for the questionnaire. Discriminant analysis confirmed the findings.
