Women in leadership: value of women's contributions in science, engineering, and technology

Abstract

The paper discusses women's leadership potential at all stages of their education and career and points out that a main obstacle for women to obtain these roles lies in the vision that women are inferior to men. The origin and perpetuation of this vision is presented. Strategies to change this misconception and to increase the participation of women in these disciplines are proposed.
