Real-Time Photorealistic Virtual Human Anatomy

Published: 01 March 2008 Publication History

Abstract

This article presents a new, voxel-based virtual human anatomy learning system. Using cryosection images to construct human parts provides accurate natural-appearance rendering for both the boundary and inner structure of human parts. The authors developed a novel voxel-based surface-reconstruction algorithm for fast surface reconstruction and real-time modification to volume data. Focusing on high-quality human parts rendering as well as real-time interaction, the system provides a better platform for virtually learning human anatomy.
