Pattern Recognition in Embedded Systems: An Overview

Published: 01 September 2015 Publication History

Abstract

Many Pattern Recognition tasks must be implemented with embedded systems, since interactions with humans and with the environment are among the most frequent functions they perform. Traditionally seen as an area of Artificial Intelligence AI that comes after the perception process, a classical PR application takes a set of physical measures obtained by sensors or communication subsystems and generates actions using actuators or provides information through the display or an I/Oï źport.
In this talk, some of the application domains, optimization techniques and important, tradeoffs associated to the computational issues and time constraints involved, along with open problems and solution methodologies, are presented.
