Bury Me, My Love: The Boundary Between Reality and Fiction in IDNs for Smartphone

Published: 11 November 2023 Publication History

Abstract

Interactive digital narratives for telephones, described as smartfictions, are based on our ordinary practices with a smartphone, in particular instant messaging and notifications. Using the example of Bury me, my Love, the paper analyses the play on the boundary between reality and fiction, but also what these narratives reveal about our own use of the smartphone and the ethical issues they raise.
