A New Approach to Two-Machine Flow Shop Problem with Uncertain Processing Time

Published: 21 September 2003 Publication History

Abstract

In this paper, we make an improvement onMcCahon and Lee's algorithm for two-machineflow shop problem with uncertain processingtime represented with fuzzy number. Especially, the scheme used in McCahon and Lee'salgorithm for ranking fuzzy processing times ismodified to calculate better the minimummakespan. Example and extensive simulationresults are presented to show the improvedperformance on finding optimal job sequence.Analytical results are also provided to show theeffectiveness of our algorithm.
