The computer scientist in context: faculty search committee service

Published: 01 April 2005 Publication History

Abstract

Many Assistant Professors are assigned to serve on faculty search committees with little or no training. This paper will describe the necessary components of a good faculty search committee by likening the process of hiring (and continuing to employ) a computer science professor to the software design process.
