In this paper, we propose a new congestion control scheme to minimize data
loss and maintain data quality in wireless multimedia sensor networks. The
proposed scheme extracts and transfers dynamic regions by considering
monitoring characteristics over multimedia sensor network environments to
reduce the transferred data. Furthermore, it can reduce the packet size by
deleting and transferring low-priority bit data by considering multimedia
data characteristics during congestion situations to minimize packet loss.
To show the superiority of the proposed scheme, we compare it with the
existing congestion control schemes through simulation.
