Passive Sonar Particle Filter Tracking Method Based on Target Spectrum Features

Published: 22 May 2024 Publication History

Abstract

Passive sonar tracking is the process of obtaining the target's bearing and motion state. For the problem of multi-target tracking in passive sonar, this paper investigates and proposes a particle filtering tracking method based on target spectrum features. This method extracts continuous spectrum structural feature vectors for each target, constructs similarity measurements matching their spectral features, and evaluates particle likelihood functions based on measurement values. Compared to the conventional particle filter method that uses target energy information as measurement input, this method significantly enhances target tracking performance in multi-target crossing scenarios. Simulation experiments and sea trial data confirmed the effectiveness of this approach.
