SDN multi-controller deployment algorithm based on particle swarm optimization

Published: 14 June 2024 Publication History

Abstract

Because the optimal solution search space of the multi-controller deployment algorithm is concentrated in the local area, the network delay of the SDN network is high, so the SDN network multi-controller deployment algorithm based on particle swarm optimization is proposed. Based on the generated network topology, the sub-domains are divided according to the node location. From the two aspects of network delay and load balancing, according to the attribute scores of nodes in the sub-domain, the node with the highest score is selected as the controller's location to deploy the controller. Finally, the deployed controller covers the entire network. Compared with K-means algorithm and genetic algorithm, the multi-controller deployment algorithm of SDN network proposed in this paper can effectively reduce network delay and significantly improve link reliability based on particle swarm optimization. This shows that the algorithm can better optimize the deployment location of the controller, thereby improving the performance of the SDN network.
