Real-Time Portability in Software-Defined Systems

Abstract

Software-Defined Vehicles are the automotive industry current focus, as they enables shortening time to market, improving product quality with over-the-air updates, enabling after sale software services to be purchased and more.
In this paper, we address what Software-Defined means, going beyond functional portability, and examining both what we define as Temporal and Spatial portability.
This document outlines tools, methodologies, software interfaces and hardware architectural features being embraced and enhanced by the SOAFEE ecosystem to address the requirements of Software-Defined system designs, with focus on real-time and safety relevant deployments.
