Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) for Selection of Project Management Software to Support Remote Working: A Case Study at Logistics Division of a National EPC Company in Indonesia

Published: 21 November 2022 Publication History

Abstract

Good project management is the main pillar of a project's success from an internal perspective. However, in 2020, the world was being hit by a sudden disruption in the form of the pandemic disease which greatly affects all aspects of social life. One of the effects of this pandemic is a large-scale social restriction, which is the limitation of a large group of people in one activity. This limitation will lead to the working from home system implementation for some companies. The implementation of this new working system will lead to the project performance and quality as well. The use of project management software can maintain or even increase the performance of the project. The objective of the thesis work is to be able to determine the criteria needed in a project management software and decide the suitable one in a logistics department. The analytical hierarchy process method was used in this research. Based on interviews and literature reviews, the criteria used are project schedule, collaboration, and task / Kanban. Microsoft Project is being on the first rank rather than other software that has a weight value on project schedule, collaboration, and task / Kanban criteria are 0.6887, 0.5870, and 0.4502.
