Collective Intelligence: from the Enlightenment to the Crowd Science

Published: 06 July 2017 Publication History

Abstract

From1 the 18th century Enlightenment to the New Millennium, the wisdom of crowd, later named the collective intelligence, has attracted many scientists to study its principle and application. This article shows the picture of collective intelligence study process in time order. After summarizing the history of researches related and different scientists' contribution to this research field, the authors will show the recent research focusing on collective intelligence optimization and modern applications of collective intelligence. Last but not least, its future potential will also be discussed.
