The state of reuse: perceptions of the reuse community

Published: 01 May 1999 Publication History

Abstract

The Ninth Workshop on Institutionalizing Software Reuse (WISR9) was held January 7-9, 1999, bringing together established reuse researchers from academia and industry. On the first day of the workshop, a survey was taken to collect feedback about the reuse community's collective beliefs and disagreements. Preliminary results were then shared with the participants during the last plenary session of the workshop. This article presents the results of the survey, which capture the opinions of an important segment of the reuse community.
