User Evaluation of Unobtrusive Methods for Heart-Rate Measurement

Published: 26 June 2018 Publication History

Abstract

We present a user evaluation of 3 unobtrusive methods for heart-rate measurement. More specifically, we implement a state-of-the-art method that uses the web camera of a typical computer, we use a low-cost bracelet with an integrated photoplethysmography sensor and also a freely available Android mobile app which uses the phone's camera and flash. All methods are thoroughly evaluated a) for their accuracy; and b) by real users using a questionnaire.
