Instawatch: A freeware tool for video annotation

Published: 13 September 2016 Publication History

Abstract

Growth of the Cloud and raise of new online devices have promoted large quantity of media contents on which real value of data is not only its knowledge but also the ability to access it. Although main challenge is the automated recovering of metadata, the complexity of issues involved in such automated task promotes the use of manual metadata (annotations) in media content. The tool presented in this article (named as Instawatch) is able to structure manually media data by using user concepts and relationships (i.e. the knowledge can be described by means of the appropriate vocabulary).
