IOA-CBR: information overload-aware content-based routing

Published: 12 July 2010 Publication History

Abstract

This paper is concerned with scaling content-based publish-subscribe services. We demonstrate how the knowledge of the maximum delivery rate of publications requested by subscribers can be used to address the Information overload and to minimize the communication costs of content-based routing solutions. We compare our approach, IOA-CBR, to an existing solution [4] and a baseline content-based routing scheme. Our solution achieves an excellent trade-off between the quality of service provided and the communication costs incurred.
