Communicability design and evaluation in cultural and ecological multimedia systems

Published: 31 October 2008 Publication History

Abstract

We present a set of quality attributes and metrics to assess communicability in the multimedia systems. It is the result of a long process of assessment, design and realization of multimedia systems. The metrics use a series of primitives for the design which stem from the design models of the hypermedia but in our case they have been suited to communicability, resorting to the use of semiotics and other disciplines of the formal and factual sciences. The use of metrics does not require labs, special equipment, etc., because they are used by a new professional known as an heuristic assessor of communicability.
