Published: 22 October 2008 Publication History

Abstract

Interactivity is one of the most interesting characteristics of the Digital Television. The production of interactive content, although, is not a simple process. It requires a specific knowledge about programming languages, specially in environments with scarce resources. On the other hand, there is a lack of professionals with theses skills. The authoring tools appear in this scenario in order to reduce the efforts needed to develop interactive applications. Moreover, it should follow the new tendencies of the Web 2.0, where desktop applications are brought to the Web. iTV Project is a authoring tool based on a web environment, whose focus is the rapid development of interactive applications for Digital TV environment.
