Abstract
In support of the growing demand for multimedia information services andseamless nomadic roaming, networks of the future must be increasingly flexible and resource efficient. However, current networking protocols must be enhanced for use in satellite, as wellas, wireless networks. In this paper, issues and trends with respect to the integration of future satellite and terrestrial networks will be examined.
