Abstract
The object of the MeDoc project is the conception of a full text based publication and reference service, its prototypical implementation and evaluation. The service shall enhance information exchange and supply researchers with literature more easily. Therefore we developed an Internet based system that allows for searching, browsing, delivering and storing documents and supports searching in heterogeneous, distributed databases. Part of the documents offered via the MeDoc system are bill-able. This article gives an overview of the functionality and architecture of the MeDoc system.
