Abstract

Most psychological symptoms are related to vulnerability. They cannot be cured but have to be dealt with. In effective coping with vulnerability, cognitions are of crucial importance. Disfunctional thinking hinders sanity, while positive self-esteem and trust in the therapist and his therapy increases the change to succeed. This emphasises the therapeutical importance of so called ‘non-specific’ or placebo factors. The rest of this Dth-special is about these factors.
