Abstract
Recently the fusion of positioning and wireless communication has gained many interests due to the merits of location information for the future communication systems. As one of the well known positioning techniques, Finger Printing (FP) based localization makes use of pre-collected wireless channel information to locate the target. Both positioning and communications are highly depending on the wireless channel. In this paper, we investigate and compare the channel characteristics of different floors based on an outdoor to indoor broadband channel sounder measurement campaign. The comparison between two floors are addressed in terms of delay spread, coherence time characteristic, Power Delay Profiles (PDPs), and Time of Arrival (ToA) bias from the Geometric Line-of-Sight (GLoS) to the first None Line-of-Sight (NLoS) path.
