Abstract

The DCS (Distributed Control System) have made a great impact on the process industries like manufacturing, refinery, textile allowing automatic industrial processes with multiple input–output arrangements in real time. The above applications and its better performance indirectly depends on the communication between devices, control stations where sharing of network for optimal communication is most important. The present paper deals with study of communication parameters which decide the performance of the network in network control system (NCS). The model developed is a network of nodes explains the time delay analysis of token passing in ControlNet and DeviceNet to get the performance of the NCS. Simulation of the model for 4 nodes using token passing protocol among DeviceNet for NCS has been simulated and analyzed.
