Abstract

We give the first cut-free ExpTime (optimal) tableau decision procedure for checking satisfiability of a knowledge base in the description logic \(\mathcal{SHI}\), which extends the description logic \(\mathcal{ALC}\) with transitive roles, inverse roles and role hierarchies.
