Abstract

A web-based customer-oriented virtual collaborative design system has been established. The system, using VRML product model as the inter-medium, provides customers and enterprise designers with a new and interactive way to discuss and improve the product design to satisfy the requirements of the customers. The relevant key technologies, such as pretreatment of VRML file and Reloading Model File, online design, alternating operation of the model and synchronous display, are introduced.
