Abstract
A new methodology to determine and correct lens distortion typically occurring in low cost camera systems is presented. The method is easy to apply and leads to very accurate results with moderate effort. The method combines the radial lens distortion as the main part of the global distortion with the remaining weaker parts. Distortion models are presented and their validity are shown. The algorithm needs some reference points with known coordinates. Examples and accuracy results are presented and discussed.
