Abstract
The combination of optimization tools of any kind and additive manufacturing should be able to improve lightweight construction. In this article we discuss a mixed-integer linear program to describe the static load distribution in a two-dimensional space as a first starting point. The results indicate there is an opportunity to use optimization for the initial design within a defined assembly space. A design example illustrates first results.
