Any tips to get better at anatomy? (besides 'just draw' ha)

do lots of life drawing (and this is coming from someone who does not like life drawing at all still) i remember having a teacher have us focus on just drawing what we see but that doesnt work for me, i like to understand the underlying forms and structures and let that affect what i see. at the end of the day the thing that ends up being the bedrock of most art advice is “strengthen your skills of observation”
back when i was like 14 or 13, i used to do super rudimentary animations that were like 2 frames, at the time i really liked artists like louie zong for how simple his designs were with a focus on really smart colors, i started only doing actual animation animation when i was 16 and really into artists like sam maurer and other people adjacent to calarts at the time, i still like this work even if i can see it’s clear lack of understanding a lot of animation essentials
