Description
English: This image shows the coding region in a segment of eukaryotic DNA.
Italiano: Il diagramma mostra in modo semplificato la relazione che intercorre tra gene, DNA e cromosoma. Gli introni sono regioni non codificanti spesso presenti nei geni eucarioti, eliminate attraverso lo splicing: solo gli esoni codificano proteine. Il diagramma indica che un gene è composto di poche decine di basi azotate: in realtà, i geni sono solitamente composti di molte centinaia di basi.
