Talk:Battle Tower (Sinnoh)
Restricted Items
I'm fairly sure Soul Dew's effect is rendered null. But I have no idea what other items are nullified. Angerman 09:31, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Is anyone sure if you earn EVs in Battle Tower while battling? I know you do NOT gain experience from defeating other pokemon...but perhaps you still gain EVs? --Ginocoolowski 23:11, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
IV tester
There is an IV tester in the Battle Tower of PM Platinum. I still don't see any information about him, can anyone add the dialogue of the IV tester? This is a fairly important NPC of the game. --Fromia 17:30, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Full (albeit super late) list of NCP Pokemon
Made a full list of NPC Pokemon as a reference for anyone who still plays Diamond and Pearl. Maybe someone still has that 100 streak on their bucket list?
(This is not the same list for Battle Frontier.) TehPerson (talk) 16:05, 14 April 2016 (UTC)
Battle Tower in Gen VIII
When are you going to update this page or create a separate page¿ --ScientistRafa (talk) 07:47, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
BDSP Trainer listings
Since there's no Battle Tower (BDSP) page yet, in the meantime, here's my work-in-progress for the Trainer listings for the Battle Tower. The data's all there, just some page-name conventions and such that aren't finalized.

- What happened with Pokémon's natures? --ScientistRafa (talk) 00:52, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- To add, here is the list of Pokemon as well:
- Note, for the calculated stat values, the Trainer listings DO take Items (e.g. Iron Ball, Choice Scarf) or Abilities (e.g. Huge Power) into account. For the Pokémon listings, they DO NOT. There is no logical reason for this. I'm unsure which one is more appropriate to use (and how to account for temporary cases like Slow Start), so in the final version, I may take out the Item/Ability calculations.

Move?
Why on earth was this moved from "Battle Tower (Generation IV)" to "Battle Tower (Sinnoh)"? It's inconsistent with the naming convention used by the other Battle Tower pages, and it doesn't even make sense, as the article covers both the Sinnoh and Johto Battle Towers, not just the former. Golden Trainer (talk) 01:42, 5 August 2023 (UTC)
- You know, this article is currently covering 3 kinds of Battle Tower at once:
- Battle Tower (Diamond and Pearl)
- Battle Tower (Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver)
- Battle Tower (Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl)
- I'm thinking maybe we can split this article somehow. Arguably this current design with the 3 versions together can be a problem because when we are playing one of those games, we probably don't need to know all the information about all the other versions. With this current design, we have to scroll, skip sections, and find the right sections when playing.
- If we kept this article as is, with the 3 Battle Tower versions together, I suppose any of the names in this list below would be entirely accurate for the entire article... but I'm not really suggesting them, I'm just saying for fun:
- Battle Tower (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl)
- Battle Tower (Generation IV, Brilliant Diamond, and Shining Pearl)
- Battle Tower (Generation IV and their Generation VIII remakes)
- Battle Tower (Sinnoh and Generation IV Johto)
- Battle Tower (Fight Area and Olivine City)
- Battle Tower (Palmer)
- In my opinion, just Battle Tower (Generation IV) was a pretty good title before BDSP, but it's not entirely accurate anymore because now it covers BDSP as well. Similarly, the exact title Battle Tower (Sinnoh and Johto) would not be very good because there's also another Battle Tower from Generation II Johto. Battle Tower (Generation IV and Generation VIII) would not work either because there's the Battle Tower (Galar) too. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 09:37, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
- I think we should split the Generation IV and BDSP Battle Towers. I already have a draft here for BDSP: User:TehPerson/Battle Tower (Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl). The mechanics are different enough to fill its own page. TehPerson (talk) 15:48, 6 August 2023 (UTC)
- You know, I think maybe these days I've started to change my personal opinion about splitting.
- Anyway, thanks TehPerson for creating that nice example page. I understand that splitting this Battle Tower by game mechanics would probably be helpful for players to some extent, but I also wonder how this looks like from an in-universe perpective.
- Okay, we may have some reasons to create "Battle Tower (Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl)" but really this is the same building (in-universe story perspective) as the Battle Tower from the older Sinnoh games.
- Obviously, it comes to mind that we probably don't want articles like "Veilstone City (Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl)" or "Sinnoh Route 201 (Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl)" since they are the same places that appeared in Generation IV as well.
- If we just want to help players find the Gen 8 game mechanics without being hassled too much by seeing the Gen 4 mechanics on the same page, maybe we can just try to organize this Battle Tower page using some game-specific sections. Most of the interesting data is already on separate pages which are game-specific, like List of Battle Tower Trainers (Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl). --Daniel Carrero (talk) 10:07, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

Multi battle information
Is it wise to modify the macros in Template:Facility infobox to allow three boxes to appear under "Participating Pokémon"? Some facilities do not use the same number for Double and Multi battles, and I would suggest to add a separate box for Multi battles, and write "2 per player" or something similar.
