Rocket Radar
The Rocket Radar (Japanese: ロケットレーダー Rocket Radar) is an item in Pokémon GO. Designed by Professor Willow using Mysterious Components left behind by Team GO Rocket Grunts, the Rocket Radar can locate the hideouts of Team GO Rocket Leaders. The Super Rocket Radar is a more advanced version of the Rocket Radar that can intercept signals to locate Giovanni's headquarters.[1]

Effect
When a Rocket Radar is equipped, it will reveal all PokéStops within interaction range used as Team GO Rocket Hideouts. These appear as invaded PokéStop occupied by any of the three Team GO Rocket Leaders. Unlike PokéStops invaded by Grunts, hideouts are not identifiable from a distance, lacking the shadowy overlay from a standard invasion. Instead, the player can tap on the Rocket Radar's icon, which scans the player's vicinity and displays a bird's-eye map marking all the hideouts. An equipped Rocket Radar will also cause the next Team GO Rocket balloon to have a Team GO Rocket Leader appear from it.
The player can use the Rocket Radar to challenge a Team GO Rocket Leader to battle. The Rocket Radar is consumed once the player defeats a Leader. If the player loses, the Rocket Radar can continued to be used to rematch the Leader or locate a different hideout.
A Rocket Radar and a Super Rocket Radar can be equipped simultaneously. In the event that the same PokéStop is occupied by two Team GO Rocket members detected each of the radars, the one found by the Super Rocket Radar takes precedence, and the other will appear once the former is defeated.
Rocket Radars only work between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., local time. If players use the Rocket Radar to scan the area outside this time window, nothing will be found, and their team leader will suggest checking back in the morning. However, even outside this time window, an equipped Rocket Radar will still cause the next Team GO Rocket balloon have a Leader appear from it.
In addition, having a Rocket Radar present in the Bag will prevent the player from receiving any more Mysterious Components from defeating Grunts.
