(Japanese: 決着!大空の戦い!! Conclusion! Battle with the Open Sky!!) is the 11th chapter of the Scarlet & Violet arc of the Pokémon Adventures manga.
It is subtitled (Japanese: VSオトシドリ VS Otoshidori).
Plot
The Open Sky Titan dives toward Violet's Nymble, slamming its beak into it and knocking it out. It then flaps its heavy wings toward Violet and Arven, blasting them with powerful gusts of wind. Violet directs Arven to send out his new Pokémon, but as soon as the Titan Bombirdier spots the Poké Ball in Arven's hands, it swings its wing at him and he falls backward. Bombirdier then turns its attention toward Violet, charging for him with its talons. As the talons close toward him, Bombirdier is suddenly distracted by the sound of a guitar. Violet turns in shock to see Mireia and her Meowth playing music. The Titan charges toward her, to Violet's horror. When it is about to reach her, it is hit by a Smack Down that sends it hurtling into the ground. The attack is revealed to have come from Arven's new Pokémon, Nacli. Arven explains that he'd had Nacli use Rock Polish right before Bombirdier swung its wing at him. Violet runs to him in relief, and the two plan to counterattack together.
Violet sends out his newly evolved Clodsire and commands it to use Mud Shot, coating Bombirdier in mud. Arven then has Nacli use another Smack Down attack to prevent the Titan from returning to the skies. Clodsire finishes it off with Slam, sending it over the edge of the mountain and into the sea below.
Violet and Arven rush to thank Mireia for her help. The two offer to buy CDs of her music, but she asks them to attend one of her performances instead, as she would rather have people purchase her music because they genuinely enjoy it. Mireia then becomes aware of an appealing scent in the air, prompting Violet and Arven to realize she is speaking of Herba Mystica. The three follow the aroma to a cave entrance, where Arven spots some Bitter Herba Mystica. Offering to repay Mireia with a sandwich, he makes some for everyone and their Pokémon. When the others start eating, Arven sends Mabosstiff out from his Poké Ball. As he feeds a sandwich to him, he informs Mireia about Herba Mystica's healing properties, explaining why he and Violet need it to help Mabosstiff and Miraidon.
After Mabosstiff eats his sandwich, his eyes slowly open. Arven is overjoyed, but his celebration is cut short when Miraidon glows brightly behind him. Violet promptly receives a call from Professor Turo, who briefly explains that Miraidon should now have the ability to travel across water. Violet tries to give Turo the chance to speak with Arven, and right as Arven raises his voice at him, the call ends abruptly. When Violet comments on how cold Turo and Arven's relationship is, Arven retorts that he has never seen Violet speak with his own parents. Violet then explains that Rotojī is consistently updating his parents about his journey and reports back to him with their responses.
As the three depart from the cave, Mireia realizes she has information that might be of use to the others. She leads the two to the Icerend Shrine, telling them it is shrouded in mystery. When Arven notes that it is not mentioned in the Violet Book, Violet dismisses its relevance to their journey. The two part ways with Mireia, who invites them to hear her play her music at any time.
Meanwhile, as Scarlet and Nemona make their way towards Uva Academy, Scarlet receives a notification from her Rotom Phone that causes her to turn around. Nemona proceeds to follow Scarlet, prompting the latter to ask what she believes their relationship is. Although embarrassed, Nemona says that she sees her as both a rival and a friend, which Scarlet finds irrelevant to her business. Nemona then announces she will contribute as Scarlet's treasure hunting assistant.
The two arrive in Levincia, where Scarlet had been asked by her client to meet. After Scarlet realizes her client is running late, Nemona encourages her to take on the city's Gym. She is about to decline, but stops to consider the food carts around her. Nemona tells Scarlet that if she succeeds at the Gym, she can use her prize money to buy something to eat. While initially hesitant, Scarlet agrees. Before she can begin, Nemona has a sudden realization. Noting that Scarlet will likely not want anyone to see her identity, she fills her in on a plan.
Shortly after, Iono, the Gym Leader of Levincia, begins a livestream. She introduces Nemona onscreen, then turns the attention toward a new challenger who will be facing her—a disguised Scarlet.
