Funkcija
[uredi | uredi izvor]Pokazalo se da porodica leucinom bogatih proteina (LRR), uključujući LRG1, učestvuje u interakcijama protein-protein, transdukciji signala adheziji ćelija i razvoju. LRG1 se i+ekspzimirta tokom diferencijacije granulocita.[5][6]
LRG1 je također uključen u promociju neovaskularizacije (rasta novih krvnih sudova), uzrokujući prebacivanje u transformiranju signala faktora rasta beta (TGFbeta) u endotelnim ćelijama. LRG1 se veže na akcesorni receptor endoglina i promovira signalizaciju putem ALK1 – Smad1 / 5/8.[7]
Primjena
[uredi | uredi izvor]Razine LRG proteina su izrazito povišene u akutnoj upali slijepog crijeva i stoga se mogu koristiti kao dijagnostički pokazatelj.[8]
LRG1 može biti potencijalni terapijski cilj za liječenje bolesti kod kojih postoji aberantna neovaskularizacija.[7]
