Russell Derr
Russell Derr is a judge of the Nebraska 4th District Court. He assumed office in 2003.
Derr ran for re-election for judge of the Nebraska 4th District Court. He won in the retention election on November 5, 2024.
Biography
Derr received his B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 1978 and his J.D. from the Creighton University School of Law in 1981. Derr began his career in 1983 as a private practice lawyer. He worked in this capacity until his judicial appointment in 2003.[1][2]

2012 judicial performance evaluation
Every two years, the Nebraska State Bar Association compiles responses from lawyers to evaluate judges in the state. Subjects are rated in seven categories, then a determination is made for whether the judge should be retained. The seven categories considered are: legal analysis; impartiality; attentiveness; opinions; judicial temperament and demeanor; appropriate communication; and timeliness.
