Paula J. Hepner was a judge for the Kings County Family Court in New York. She was appointed to this position in August of 1990 and was reappointed in December of 2000 and 2009. She also served as the supervising judge for the Family Courts of Kings County and Richmond County from February of 2008 until 2012.[1][2] Hepner retired in 2012.[3]

Education

Hepner received her B.A. degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1970 and her J.D. degree from the Hofstra University School of Law in 1977.[1]

Career

Hepner began her career in 1978 as a private practice lawyer. She worked in this position until her judicial appointment in 1990. She also held various other positions during this time. From 1978 to 1979, she was a staff attorney for the Protection and Advocacy System for Developmental Disabilities. From 1979 to 1983, she worked for Advocate for Children of New York and, from 1983 to 1985, she worked for the Public Education Association. She then served as a supervising attorney for the New York City Human Resources Administration until she was appointed to the Family Court in 1990. She became a Supervising Family Court Judge in 2008 and retired in 2012.[1]
