Shirley Kornreich
Shirley Werner Kornreich was a justice for the New York County Supreme Court, Civil Term in the 1st Judicial District of New York. She was appointed to this position in March 2009 and elected in November 2009. She retired in 2018.[1]
Previously, Kornreich served as an acting justice from 2002 to 2007.[2]
She was elected to the New York City Civil Court in 1995 and served on that court until 2007.
Education
Kornreich received an undergraduate degree from New York University, going on to earn her J.D. from the New York University School of Law in 1975.[2]
Career
Prior to her judicial career, Kornreich worked as both an appellate attorney and trial lawyer for The Legal Aid Society. She was also principal law assistant to Justice Ira R. Globerman in the Criminal Division of the Bronx Supreme Court.[2]
