Leonard Richards
Leonard Richards (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Minnesota. He lost in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2018.
At the time of the 2018 election, Richards was an inmate at Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater. He was serving a life sentence for two murders. Following his imprisonment, Richards had run for the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party nomination in Minnesota's 8th Congressional District in 1992 and in the U.S. Senate election in 1994.[1]
