Contact

J.J. Koch (Republican Party) is the Chief Justice of the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals. He assumed office on January 1, 2025. His current term ends on December 31, 2030.

Koch is also a judge of the Dallas County Criminal District Court No. 2 in Texas. He assumed office on January 4, 2023. His term ended on December 31, 2024.

Koch (Republican Party) ran for election as Chief Justice of the Texas Fifth District Court of Appeals. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.

Biography

Koch earned his bachelor's degree from Duke University and his law degree from SMU Dedman School of Law. His career experience includes working as an attorney with William M. Woodall, P.C., representing Dallas County as a prosecutor, and serving as an attorney for the Dallas Fraternal Order of Police.[1]
