My name is Kevin Waters. I’m a 4th Generation SW Washington Resident. I am a Former Corrections Officer, Former Skamania County Port Commissioner, Founder of Backwoods Brewing, and Economic Development Director for Skamania County. My wife and I are currently raising the 5th generation in my Grandparents home built in 1958. I’m a practicing Roman Catholic and attend, Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.

  • As a small business owner I believe in less regulation for job growth and economic development. I also support building a robust infrastructure for Washington State in terms of sewer, water, power and broadband.
  • As a former Corrections Officer I support our police and will look to reverse the laws that have handcuffed our police and given power to criminals. I will also look to help those with mental health issues and currently are criminalized because of the help they need.
  • We all know that we are not being heard by our government. We need a leader who will advocate for our wants and needs, and I am prepared to serve as a voice for our community.

I am passionate about Economic Growth and the policies that support and not hinder it. I am also passionate about Police having the proper tools and policy to be able to do their jobs. I am also passionate about energy policy and making sure we do not have a failing power grid and support our dams. We need to make sure that we can continue to supply power to all at a reasonable rate and not bloated because of policies that do not bring reasonable rates and power for all.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Washington

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
