A mom of three and elected member of the North Clackamas School Board, April knows the challenges working families face first-hand, dealing with underfunded schools, expensive childcare, and a healthcare system that works for no one. As our State Representative, she'll hold government accountable for Oregonians.
  • Defending Reproductive Health Care:

With Republicans trying to pass a national abortion ban, April will defend the right to safe and legal abortion here in Oregon.

That's why April is the only candidate in the race endorsed by Planned Parenthood.
  • Supporting Working Families: Rising Costs impact all of us, which is why April will work with Republicans and Democrats to block any effort to toll I-205. April knows that Clackamas County families already pay more than their fair share, and she'll fight to reduce costs. That's why as a community leader, April is fighting to stop a pending rate increase from PGE on our electricity bills.
  • Keeping Our Community Safe: As part of a law enforcement family, April knows that it's critical that we provide public safety officers the resources they need to keep our communities safe, address the fentanyl crisis, and reduce gun violence. That's why April is endorsed by Clackamas County Sheriff Angela Brandenburg, firefighters, and police chiefs.
With three kids in public school, April knows we need responsible investments in public education to support our classrooms. She will champion recruiting and retaining highly trained educators, strengthening mental and behavioral health supports for students, supporting special education, and reducing class sizes.
One of my earliest jobs was helping my dad research his book "Oregon's Prevailing Wage Law: Benefiting the Public, the Worker, and the Employer." He was a rabble rouser, and after serving in the Marines he organized meat packers so they could have a safe workplace and a living wage. After putting himself through college and law school, he didn't go work for big corporations like so many of his classmates. His clients were working people and the public interest. He taught me to always stick up for the underdog, no matter the odds.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Oregon

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
