Osceola county is installing cameras at schools that will issue speeding tickets to drivers who exceed the speed limit in front of schools. The county claims that a law enforcement officer will verify each infraction before a citation is issued.
We all know how that really works. About a decade ago, 2,000 Baltimore red light camera traffic citations which require a police officer to swear that he or she has reviewed the photos as showing a traffic violation when it was discovered that all the verification signatures on the citations issued were from an officer that had died a year before the citations were issued.

Just gonna throw this out there;
There is approximately 5 pounds of copper in the average speed camera system. i sure hope tweakers don’t find out this info.

Traffic cameras don’t reduce accidents they just fenerate income for cops and cities to waste.
I review nde reports as part of my job, takes 10 minutes to review one. How one officer can review thousands of camera pictures in an hour is impossible. Its likely robo signed and ‘reviewed’ by a computer.

I post purely for informational purposes, that for generally no more than $5@, you can purchase sufficient art supplies to make all the fake 6″ x12″ cardboard license plates your heart desires, with a precious little bit of time and artistic talent.
Someone with a wicked sense of humor could ascertain which police officers’ cars in the stations’ parking lots, and which city officials, had similar makes and models of cars, gin up the correct tags, and then spend spare days zooming through school zones right in front of said cameras, until they had generated any number of hundreds of tickets.
A surgical mask and sunglasses defeats all facial recognition, and when the news hits – and it will – that cops excused the mayor, three councilmen, 5 ADAs, a dozen judges, and 207 policemen for 3,072 speeding tickets, the program will die a quick and quiet death. (Bonus points for “dekeing” if you leave fake plates on one or more of the other cops’/officials’ cars, to throw them under suspicion for the prank).
Spray-painting the camera lenses (technically, smearing a glob of vaseline over the lenses using a telescoping tree-trimming pole with a paint stir stick covered in goop, and duct-taped to the tip is even better – don’t ask me how I know that) and/or otherwise disabling the cameras can take place at any point in the experiment. And should.
In Italy, one city (Rome, IIRC) put up traffic cameras some years back. Within 3 days, all of them had been stolen. They never tried the idea again.
Become ungovernable.

tx outlawed red light cameras…not sure how this isn’t anything different…and how they got around all the tickets at the time was to make them civil infractions, not driving infractions…bastards will do anything to make a buck…
