Illustrated story about essential NYC?

Came across it a few years ago ... it might have been Roz Chast, but maybe not. Anyway, it was a cartoon about 2 friends doing the most essential New York City things. The one I remember perfectly was having martinis at Bemelman's. Everything else is a blank, and I'd like to share it with a friend who'll be in the city next month? Any ideas? Thanks!

NYC to EWR on Thanksgiving

I'm catching an international flight out of Newark on Thanksgiving Day, departing in the early evening. What's the best way to get to the airport from Manhattan that day (I was going to take the train from Penn Station)? How much extra time should I give myself? Any advice for surviving the experience?

New York MeFites: where can I get a decent egg cream?

I'm visiting New York City in a month, and one of my to-do list items is to have a proper New York egg cream. I keep reading references to it in Richard Boch's Mudd Club memoir and elsewhere (like the terrible late-period Lou Reed song of the same name) and I can't help but be curious. Suggestions for places in either Manhattan or Brooklyn? Or am I 50 years too late for the real thing?

Where is a sort of Mondrian mural in Manhattan?

I remember an article about a mural painted in a NYC office entrance that was in the style of Mondrian, but slightly different. The black lines were parallel, but didn't meet at a ninety degree angle. Did I hallucinate this, or has some else seen it?

Where do I go from here?

I am planning on bicycling around Manhattan Island on Sunday. According to this the NE corner of Manhattan is pretty much inaccessible. I know I can ride through most of Inwood Park. Is there an alternative route that would get me to Harlem River Drive without going through the middle of Inwood/Dyckman St.? Also, are there other current detours off the bike trails that I should be aware of?

Bike stolen from building, have footage. What next?

An Amazon delivery worker stole my (foolishly) unlocked bike from the building lobby about 12 days ago. I have him dead to rights on security footage. I also know who in the building picked up the package he dropped off, though we've only said hi in passing. I'd like not to involve the police because I'm anti-carceral, so I'd like to hear suggestions for what I can do next to ideally recover the bike and less-than-ideally penalize the thief in some way, to prevent or discourage further thefts (like from other delivery sites). four days in nyc, working introvert edition

Hello! I’m interning at a company and visiting one of their offices in NYC from June 27-June 30. I’m leaving NYC in the evening on the 30th, so I have a few evenings to explore the city. I’d love to see some of the sights, but I’m also an introvert and can be easily overwhelmed by a lot of social interaction/external stimulus. I’m staying in a hotel in the Lower East Side, close to Soho and Little Italy, and would prefer things that are in that area though a short train ride away would also be ok. Is there a specific reason a lot are here, other than NYC being such a diverse city? TV show with cursed music scene of Arthur's Theme vs cardboard WTC

Post 9/11, a sitcom I was watching had a scene where the characters from the show were in a bar (?) doing a skit/dance to Arthur's theme (Best That You Can Do).
