Howdy!! Here’s a pinned

My name is Dean and I post various things in my camera roll. Mainly just selfies and my poetry. Sometimes more in depth, long form literature. This is kinda just a whatever pile account honestly!

A little about me!! I’m a transmasculine bi butch, I took T for 5 years and got top surgery in 2021. I love reading on topics like queer lit/history, sexology, and psychology. I also love DnD, baldurs gate, the fallout series, and I’m a power lifter! — oh, and I also work in trades.

I am a Welsh-Canadian settler living within the un-ceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. (So called Vancouver)

!!!I’m so so happy I could help you with this!!! Believe me, I felt (and still, to an extent do) lost and like I needed to suppress bisexuality in favour of my butchness. Honestly? Exploring bi butch hashtags and engaging with more GNC butch spaces in general is what I recommend the most. Also doing your research in queer history.

I say that because there’s nothing more affirming than learning “oh shit- bi butches and bi femmes have always existed”. And then not only having that, but then having the means to educate others when/if they try to doubt your identity. Remember that the idea butch/femme labels are exclusive to lesbians is based in lesbian separatism, which isn’t just bi+phobic, but also heavily steeped in TERF and anti black/BIPOC rhetoric.

I also wanna throw in that the right people absolutely will accept you, going to queer clubs I’ve seen nothing BUT acceptance. And also, speaking as someone who used to be rather ‘exclu’ oriented years back? Trust me, exclusionists are too cowardly to speak up over the accepting crowd.

Now as for some accounts for you to follow, i recommend @bisexual-coala , I’ve learned a lot from their account and they’ve spread a ton of sources on bi butch history! I’m rlly bad at remembering acc names, but I have some more I could dig up if you ever wanted to dm me. Anyway super glad you left this and I’m so so so humbled and privileged that I get to be a voice in this community loud enough to inspire people to come to terms with their own identities, what a feeling!! <3
