Queen Regent Míriel — THE RINGS OF POWER
THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY (2012)
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) dir. J.J. Abrams
@ropladies /Rings of Power/Hilda Doolittle, from Winter Love/Antigonick, Anne Carson/Euripides, from Medea; tr. by Oliver Taplin
discovered today that the soundtracks for both elendil swearing loyalty to miriel (accused in numenor) and miriel and elendil's meeting in the prison cell (trial by abyss) are available under episode specific albums rather than the collected season 2 album...a win for mirendil fans everywhere

will always & forever with the opening of the hobbit films. i don’t think they considered the implications. but i do
1. the whole film and the whole trilogy begin with “Dear Frodo”—Bilbo is first and foremost telling this story to him and for him. it seems he would not be telling this story to anyone else for any other reason. Bilbo loves him with everything he has. This is for Frodo.
2. since returning to the shire Bilbo dedicated his time to researching and documenting the history of Erebor and the Durin’s line of Kings. he researched the origins of erebor’s conflict with the woodland realm and eyewitness accounts of the day Smaug attacked. but yes i think he was coping Just Fine after his adventure!!!
3. the end of Bilbo’s introduction about Thorin is him working in the cities of men and vowing to take back the mountain, etc etc. then he says “that…is where i come in.” Bilbo really said nevermind the many other Significant Events that happened to Thorin between, the most important thing that happened to that dwarf after Erebor was meeting ME
will always & forever be obsessed with the opening of the hobbit films. i don’t think they considered the implications. but i do
